What is ShindigTime.com?

ShindigTime.com helps you organize events, coordinate food lists, and manage gift lists so everyone knows what to bring or purchase.


How do I create an event?

After logging in, click Create Event. Enter the event name, date, time, and location. Once created, you can invite others and start building food or gift lists.


How do gift lists work?

Event hosts can add gift ideas to a list. Other users can view the list and mark items as purchased so duplicates are avoided.


Can I edit event details later?

Yes. Event owners can update the event name, date, time, location, and description from the event details page.


What happens if a gift is removed from the list?

Items are not deleted permanently. They are marked as removed so others can still see that the item was previously on the list.


Do I need an account to join an event?

Yes. Creating an account allows you to join events, browse gift lists, and mark gifts as claimed.


What is the difference between a gift registry and gift exchange?

A gift registry contains a single gift list for events such as a birthday or wedding. A gift exchange includes a separate gift list for each person attending the event.


Do children need a login to have a gift list for a gift exchange?

No. A user may create a gift list for someone else, and it will be displayed in the gift exchange list.


How do I create a gift list for someone else?

From the details page, choose My Gift List in the left navigation area then choose Create Managed User.


Can I create a Shindig for free?

Yes. Each registered user can create one free Drop-In Shindig per month. A fee applies for advanced features such as RSVP tracking and gift lists.


How long is the Shindig valid?

Events can be scheduled as far as 12 months in advance.


Can I create a Shindig for a trip?

Yes you can. You can select the packing list as the list type to help prepare you with your trip planning.
